Hungarian Parliament Speaker is banned from Israel

The Speaker of the Israeli Parliment, Reuven Rivlin, has withdrawn an invitation to his Hungarian opposite number,László Kövér, after the latter attended a memorial service for a wartime Nazi enthusiast.

It is the latest neo-Fascist incident in the Budapest establishment, a tendency apparentlyencouraged by the current prime minister, Victor Orban.

In an unrelated development, 50 US Congress members wrote to Orban today, urging him to act against rising racism in his country.
